Der er så meget at tænke over, når man skal planlægge et bryllup. Du tænker måske endda, hvor skal jeg starte?
Der findes et par basale faser, som er nødvendige at følge så du kan være sikker på at du er på den rette vej til at være en glad og stressfri brud, fremfor den frygtede Bridezilla, eller ligeledes, en Groomzilla.
Bare følg disse 6 simple faser, så er du godt på vej mod en lykkelig bryllupsdag!
Fase 1 – Bryllupsstil
Forestil jer hvordan i ønsker jeres bryllup skal være:
- Formelt eller informelt
- Religiøst eller civilt
- Lokation – Lokalt, på landet eller i udlandet
- Klima – Varmt eller koldt
- Størrelse – Hvor stor skal jeres bryllup være og hvem vil i gerne have med (og hvem vil i helst undlade at have med)?
- Bryllupsfesten – Forlover og brudepiger osv. Hvor mange og hvem?
Fase 2 – Lav jeres budget
Denne fase har afgørende betydning for jeres bryllup. I skal være realistiske omkring hvor mange penge i vil og har råd til at bruge på jeres bryllupsdag.
Regn ud hvor meget i kan spare op, og hvis det er nødvendigt, hvor meget i forventer at jeres familiemedlemmer, vil være villige til at bidrage med – og hold jer så til det beløb i har regnet frem til!
Fase 3 – Lokation
Jeres bryllupslokation spiller en afgørende rolle, ift. hvor mange gæster der deltager.
Prisen på bryllupper i udlandet kan sagtens komme ned på halvt så meget som prisen på et bryllup i Danmark. Det er derfor vigtigt at lave research på de forskellige lokationer, som passer til jeres budget og den stil i ønsker til jeres bryllup.
Fase 4 – Juridiske krav
Undersøg præcist hvilke dokumenter i skal bruge, hvor lang tid de vil tage at indhente og hvor lang en process der vil være forbundet med disse dokumenter.
Fase 5 – Bestem jer for en dato
Når i bestemmer jer for en dato, skal i huske at overveje de lokale helligdage og specielle events, som muligvis finder sted, da disse kan blive årsag til stigende priser af venues, hoteller, flyrejser osv.

Anfi’s hjerteformede ø
Ved det luksuriøse hotel Anfi finder man deres egen ø. Øen er formet som et stort hjerte og er omringet af det glitrende blå hav og de mest naturskønne bjerge!

10. Garanti for sol
Vi håber alle på at der er godt vejr på vores bryllupsdag! Vi vil ikke risikere regn og blæst, som kan ødelægge hår, make-up og kjole, og hvis du drømmer om at holde brylluppet i baghaven, er sol og stabilt vejr den vigtigste faktor for dagens succes!
Vi ved dog også, at det danske vejr er uforudsigeligt! Om det er midt om sommeren eller ej, er der i Danmark stor risiko for regn på bryllupsdagen – og det er usansynligt svært at forudse vejret.
Men sådan er det heldigvis ikke alle steder! Gran Canaria er kendt for at have det bedste klima i verden! Der er altid godt vejr, solskin og det regner næsten aldrig. Faktisk er der på et helt år, under 20 dage med regn, på Gran Canaria. Det er da nogle gode odds!
9. En oplevelse for både par og gæster
En bryllupsfest er altid en positiv oplevelse! Men langt de fleste af os, har efterhånden været med til flere bryllupper og lad os bare være ærlige – de ligner ofte hinanden! Men et bryllup i udlandet vil være en unik oplevelse, ikke kun for dig og din partner, men også for jeres gæster.
8. Kombineret bryllup og bryllupsrejse
Ved at holde brylluppet i udlandet kan man kombinere sit bryllup og sin bryllupsrejse og fejre begge på samme tid! Det giver jer desuden også mulighed for at slappe af i naturskønne og stressfri omgivelser i dagene op til brylluppet.
7. Man skiller sig ud fra mængden
Som nævnt tidligere, er der mange bryllupper som minder om hinanden. Og de fleste af dine gæster har været til utallige almindelige og traditionelle bryllupper før dit. Der er ikke noget værre end at tage på arbejde efter din bryllupsweekend og vide at dit bryllupseventyr officielt er slut – nu er vi tilbage til hverdagen igen.

Et bryllup på Gran Canaria er en fantastisk mulighed til at glemme traditionerne og i stedet skabe jeres perfekte drømmebryllup! Ceremonien behøver ikke at foregå i en kirke og festen kan holdes lige hvor du har lyst! Gran Canaria tilbyder uendelige muligheder for at planlægge jeres bryllup med jeres egne personlige ønsker, præcis som i drømmer om!
Selv i disse moderne tider, gør vi stadig brug af mange bryllupstraditioner som stammer tilbage fra gamle tider, hvor vores samfund så en del anderledes ud.
Men hvad ligger egentlig bag disse traditioner? Lad os tage et kig på nogle af de gamle (og skøre) traditioner, så i kan vælge hvilke traditioner i synes skal være en del af jeres bryllupsfest og hvilke som absolut ikke skal!
Brudens far måtte hive fat i pengepungen
At brudens familie skal betale for brylluppet er en gammel tradition. Grunden til at brudens far skulle betale var, at den kommende gom skulle bruge sine penge på at uddanne sig, sådan at han succesfuldt kunne forsørge sin kommende familie.
Samfundet ser, heldigvis, anderledes ud i dag og det er nu mest normalt at parret, i fællesskab, selv betaler for brylluppet.
At kaste ris efter ægteparret
I Danmark er det normalt at kaste korn eller ris efter det nygifte par. Det er en gammel tradition, som stammer tilbage til 1800-tallet.
Gæsterne kastede ris mod det nygifte par for at symbolisere et ønske om frugtbarhed til parret – både med hensyn til børn, men også for at ønske parret en frugtbar økonomi.
Selv om tradition er velkendt her i Danmark, stammer den faktisk fra det Gamle Rom, hvor gæster ville kaste med nødder, mandler og endda mønter – av!
Brudens sko
Selv brudens sko findes der gamle traditioner for! Disse er måske ikke så kendte i dag, men de er alligevel værd at kende 
til – især hvis man har en overtroisk side i sig!
Brudens sko må ikke være købt af den kommende ægtemand selv, da det siges, at bruden så vil løbe fra ham.
Bruden må gerne selv købe sine brudesko, men så skal hun også være meget opmærksom på at behandle skoene godt. Hvis de går i stykker, betyder det nemlig, at ægteskabet også vil gå i stykker.
Alle gæster skal tage et stykke kage!
Med bryllupskagen følger også gamle traditioner. For langt de fleste brudepar i dag, er traditionen om at parret i fællesskab skærer det første stykke af bryllupskagen, stadig et absolut must. Dette er nok en god ting, da man i følge gammel overtro, frygtede at bruden ville være barnløs gennem ægteskabet, hvis hun ikke fik hjælp af sin nye ægtemand til at skære kagen.
En tradition, du måske ikke kender til, er at alle gæster skal spise et stykke af kagen, da det ellers ville bringe ulykke – ikke kun for det nygifte par, men også for deres gæster. Så hvis du er gæst til et bryllup, er det det værd at glemme slankekuren, bare for én dag.
Brudebukettens mange traditioner
Vi kender alle den klassiske tradition, hvor den nygifte brud, kaster sin brudebuket ud til de kvindelige gæster og pigen som fanger den, er den næste til at blive gift. Langt de fleste brude gør stadig brug af denne tradition. Det er en sjov tradition, som mange af de kvindelige gæster ser frem til, og der går da ofte en lille smule konkurrence i at gribe buketten. Hvem vil ikke gerne være den næste, som skal giftes?
Men udover denne klassiske tradition, findes også andre! Mændende får nemlig også deres sjov! Det var en tradition, at den nygifte mand skulle tage brudens strømpebånd af og herefter kaste det ud mod de mandlige gæster! Den som greb strømpebåndet, fik lykke med på sin vej.
En anden tradition går ud på, at bruden lægger sin buket på graven af et nærtstående familiemedlem. Denne tradition ansås for at være lykkebrigende!
Hvis du vil beholde din buket må du, ifølge traditionen, endelig ikke sætte den i vand. Dette symboliserer nemlig at jeres ægteskab vil blive kort. Man siger desuden også, at det bringer ulykke for ægteskabet, hvis én af blomsterne i brudebuketten dør, inden man træder ud af kirken!
Husk vidner til bryllupsnatten!
I gamle dage var det normalt at parret havde sex for første gang på bryllupsnatten. Sex var nemlig den mest betydningsfulde tradition, da parrets ægteskab først var juridisk gældende efter at de havde haft samleje. Derfor skulle der være vidner til stede, som en bekræftelse på at ægteskabet nu var juridsk godkendt. Denne tradition er heldigvis ikke gældende i dag – sikke en akavet bryllupsnat, det ville have været.

The Bridal Bouquet
The one floral accessory that will be remembered by everyone is the bride’s bouquet.
It will be the most photographed floral arrangement of the day and should complement the bride and her chosen gown in every way.
There are no right or wrongs to the perfect bridal bouquet or any particular rules that must be followed. Fashions and trends are continually evolving and re-emerging, so whether you choose sophisticated, classical or glamorous, each bouquet can be as individual and beautiful as its bride.
The bouquet style you choose should depend on the design of the dress, style of the celebration and body type.
Style of Dress
Your flowers should complement your dress, not compete with it.
To give you a helping hand, I’ve listed below four of the most popular styles of bridal gown and some suggested bouquet designs to suit them.
A-Line
The clean architectural construction works for most bodies and in turn most bouquets. A composite bouquet resembling one giant blossom is a very striking option.
Empire
The longer skirt of this dress draws the eye downward to create a long lean look. A hand-tied bouquet with long stems would mirror the dress´s shape.
Ball Gown
The ball gown begs for a bouquet that can mirror its stature. You can definitely opt for a gorgeous cascading bouquet that spills over with flowers. However, if you want most of the focus on the dress then opt for a round bouquet which is simpler in style but can hold its own.
Sheath
Long and lean or body-hugging and slinky, the sheath dress can be dressed up or down with the flowers. Consider the presentation of the bouquet; when held in the crook of the brides arm it can break up the straight line of the dress without detracting from the overall look.
Your Body Shape
Not all bouquets work with every body type. It’s important to keep your bouquet relative to your frame.
Taller women should stick to longer arrangements, like arm sheafs or cascade bouquets.
Women of shorter stature, on the other hand, should hold onto more compact bouquets, and those with a larger frame will look best with fuller flower groupings.
Personalizing your bouquet
You can make your bouquet your own by personalizing it with items that mean something to you, such as family heirlooms or fabric from your mothers wedding dress for example.
Flowers also have meanings, so not only can you choose flowers that esthetically suit your wedding dress and color scheme, you can also incorporate flowers with symbolic purposes such as a white or red roses for unity or a yellow violet for happiness.
How to hold the bouquet
I know it’s common for brides to get nervous on their wedding day and inadvertently hold their bouquet up to the waist or even their chest. This optically cuts your body in half and makes you look shorter and heavier. Remember to hold your flowers as low as possible, preferably below the waist line. This makes your look longer and thinner.

Wild West Weddings
Location, Location, Location…
Choosing your dream-wedding destination should be one of your first considerations when planning your wedding and one of the most important factors.
Luckily Gran Canaria is blessed with many spectacular wedding locations, from chic beachside hotels, to country villas, beach clubs, through to city boutique hotels – the choice is endless.

STEP 2 – Set a Budget
This is a vitally important factor, you need to be realistic as to how much you want or, most importantly, can afford to spend on your wedding day.
Calculate how much you can save, and if applicable, how much family members will be willing to contribute – then stick to that calculation.

Step 4 – Legal requirements
Find out exactly what paperwork will you need and how long will it take to obtain and process.
Step 5 – Set a date
When setting the date remember to take into account any local holidays and special events, as these are factors which might increase the price of venues, hotels or flights.
Always check family and friends’ schedules to ensure they can all attend.
Step 6 – Consult a Wedding Planner
Before you go ahead with planning any aspect of your special day invest some time to meet with a wedding planner from the area you are looking to get married in.

Civil Ceremonies in Gran Canaria – The legal paperwork
In last week’s article on “How to get married in Gran Canaria” I explained that in order to legally marry in Gran Canaria via a Civil Ceremony, one or both of you need to be a resident on the island. I’m now going to go into greater detail as to the legal paperwork required in order to go about this.
As we have a multi-national readership we’re going to cover all nationalities as the necessary paperwork varies between countries.
If you follow this step by step guide, organizing the paperwork for your Canarian wedding isn’t as daunting as what you might initially think.
First you need to make an appointment to transmit all the necessary paperwork at the Civil Registry Office in your borough. They will give you a list of all the paperwork you need to bring to the appointment with you. It’s important you collect this list from them as processes and requirements may change from year to year.
As the appointment can take between 2 to 3 months to take place, it is advisable to make the appointment first and then prepare all the necessary paperwork.
Appointments can be made at the Civil Registry offices by calling between 09.00h and 13.00h Monday to Friday.
It’s also important to remember that Spanish is spoken in all official offices on the island so if you do not speak Spanish you are required to take a translator along with you.
If all the paperwork is correct by the date of your appointment, it takes around one month to receive the authorization to marry.
Once receiving the paperwork, it is then valid for up to 6 months so bear this in mind when setting a wedding date.
Citizens of France, Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Holland, Dutch Antilles, Switzerland and Turkey need to present:
1) Certificate of capacity to marry from your country of origin (according to the Munich signed agreement 5 of September 1980), you can contact your consulate for more information regarding this document.
2) An International Birth Certificate or an original Birth Certificate in its own language with the Hague Apostille Stamp and a legal translation into Spanish.
3) A Certificate of registration on the electoral role in your borough (municipio) “Certificado de Empadronamiento” in Gran Canaria.
4) The original and photocopy of your passport.
For citizens of other countries including the UK and Ireland you need a few more documents:
1) The original legalized and translated Birth Certificate (issued within one year of the wedding date).
2) A Certificate of being on the electoral role in Gran Canaria for at least 2 years, or a Consulate Certificate accrediting your residency for the last 2 years whether in Spain or another country. At least one of the couple wishing to marry must be registered on the electoral role here in the borough where they wish to marry and this must be proven with a “Certificado de Empadronamiento”.
3) A Consular Certificate accrediting the publication of the EDICTS (proclamations/bands) of civil marriage in Spain (if this applies to the law in your country).
4) A Certificate of marital status, applied for via your consulate or the appropriate authorities in your country.
5) The original and photocopy of your passport and residents certificate (the green A4 paper or the older plastic ID card).
6) A witness with their original and photocopy of their passport, DNI or residents certificate.
7) If you are divorced you need your legalized and translated marriage and divorce certificates.
8) If you are a widow, you need your legalized and translated marriage certificate and partners’ death certificate.
It’s important to remember that all the documentation that is not in Spanish needs to be translated by a “Traductor Jurado Oficial” (Official Sworn Translator) and legally authorized by the corresponding authorities.
